Tranny swap
Has anyone ever swaped an automatic for a 5 speed in a second gen. Is that too much trouble to be worth while?
I have seen my dad and brother do it in a couple of mustangs and it wasn't too bad, i wasn't sure if it would be a bad idea to look into doing it for my cummins.

Sure is...Not to hijack the thread but I was wondering if there is a bulletproof aftermarket 6 speed auto that I could swap out for the 4 spd auto on my '06.
Allison 6 speed auto as found in the DURAMAX.

But you'll need to add to it a converter, bellhousing adapter, and transfercase adapter (or just swap in the GM T-case if you wanted push button), All the wiring, driveshafts, and a computer to run it all.
You could probably get a complete setup installed for $15,000-10,000.
(I'm sadly not joking about the price either)
So a customized 6 speed on the 07-08 Dodges won't fit the 5.9?
Sure it'll fit, but the better question is...
