Noob here, first Dodge I've owned so I don't know much about these rigs. My truck has 62k on the clock. Here's the question - With the tranny cold it seems to not know when to shift 1st to 2nd. It seems to shift to 2nd, then back to 1st, then 2nd again. When it's warm, coming off a stop the truck seems to "stutter" in first gear ( but only when already warm). Am I nearing some serious rebuild expense or will a fluid/filter change and band adjustment fix things? I bought this truck because a want a reliable tow vehicle for my 5th wheel. Don't want to be camped on the side of the road somewhere if you know what I mean!

PS. Tried the search function and couldn't sift through all the stuff trying to find the answer, sorry if already asked and answered!

BTW, really like the site, doesn't seem to be all the bickering I've seen on other forums I visit!

Thanks!

Shift hunting or shuttle shift. Search that. It's just replace some electronics and good to go. Look up Borg Warner upgrade.

cool, thanks! Didn't know what to call it. I had read that other post but didn't know what his symptoms were. Does that fix the stuttering in first when warm as well?

thanks again, its always good to have knowledgeable people to ask!
