so my tranny slips, whats new w/ a cummins auto.... lol

but it only does it downshifting into 2nd at WOT at about 1500-1800 rpm. today was the worst, the edge started flashing at me, instantly jumped to 3600 rpm.

is this a torque converter issue, or am i looking at a rebuild.

im shooting for 1000lb/ft of torque, dont ever plan on more than that. if i can get away with doing a torque converter and valve body i will, other wise, im hunting for a nv5400 or nv5600. i have no interest in spending $4000 on an auto, or even $2000 for that matter. TC and VB is roughly $1000, manual swap is looking to be about $1600-1800, for the tranny, clutch, flywheel and master/slave. the pedals i can score from my cousin's junkyard, another $100 for misc parts and hardware, should be very doable for around $2000.

that said i dont mind the auto, just dont want to go crazy with it to still have it be an auto.
