i think i figured out what im doing to the 518 auto.
im going to put in either a goerend or dtt converter, 4.2 to 1 band apply lever, heavy band strut and ancor, +3qt tranny pan, and alto red and coleen steels clutches(increased count). what do you think about thaty list, will it hold 300 hp?

i really need help on choosing converters, ive been reading alot, tell me what you think.

which converter did you get, 650 or 900 dollar one

i didnt but all my buddies have got the 950 one and they run amazingly with them! so id say go with the better one and you'll be set!

One of the big things is a steel carrier. Or steel planetary. Whatever the gear in there is that's aluminum. I think it's a gear anyways. You want it to be steel. After that I think the weak point starts becoming the input and output shafts, and you're looking at major money to get billet shafts.

Transmission people love me due to my ignorance. Except that one harpy that works the phones for Suncoast. She hates everybody.

It will hold at the 300HP level. Be sure to put any listed sonnex upgrade kits for the valve body in also.
