reverse works fluid is fine not burnt
reverse works fluid is fine not burntstart with the basics
did you check the fluid in neutral?
is the fluid burnt looking or stink?
does reverse work?
well thanks for the reply back but i ended up taking it to the tranny shop that rebuilt it and they called and asked if i was running it in 1st gear or pulling real heavy loads i do pull dump trailers full of shingles pretty heavy at times running to the land fill i always put it in 4 low when i get there anyway he said i broke the intermediate shaft in half said that was very uncommon.I would see if your bands are out of adjustment or possibly the front band fell apart inside.
i guess i misunderstood the guy at the tranny shop not sure what you call the hub that the shaft goes thru but thats the part he gave me said the solid ring busted clean off is this possible or did he just give me some part from the floor or could it just of been a speed sensor not sure any feedback would be appreciated thanks. What the shop told you is 100% false!! A broken intermediate shaft would not allow any power transfer to the driveshaft.. This means that you would no forward or reverse, nothing... Make sure that they did not charge you as this sounds like a bs excuse to try to make you pay for their mistake....
so what do you think really happened he said all they had to do was test drive it it is done he daid no shavings in the pan no loose bands everything looked fine i do use amsoil in it always have. That is a broken reverse drum. If the broke the way it shows the truck would have been making the worst noise you have ever heard. It would most likely have broken the case as well as many other internal parts... Still doesn't add up IMHO...
