hey guys, got an 05 with a 48re and just ordered a gm governor solenoid conversion kit. wanted to change the tranny fluid and wonder does anyone recommend royal purple or would you just use atf?
I run rp in my dif's and think its very good fluid.Im runnin amsoil in my tranny(per builders reccomendation)and think it sux! after 40k it has the consistency of water,im thinking of changing to rp cause ive had good luck w/ it in the past.
ok i just bought 17 quarts of castrol oil synthetic $6 ea
rp was $13 dollars ea to rich for my blood right now just ordered new vb and governor solenoid kit with all new sensors tiered of the shifting problems.
Royal Purple is what I run in my stock piece of crap transmission. My tranny temps seem to be running abit lower but there is no programmer currently installed on my truck.
if u looked in the book at the capacity of the trans that the whole trand w torque converter and everything. with just a pan drop and fluid fill you will only need a few qts.
any full synthetic fluid will be fine. I dont see how u can justify the over twice as much cost from one full synthetic to another.
$3-5 sure but over 2X no
