So while turning up my fuel pump my tps sensor went out. It ended up pushing through the top of the plastic casing and now there is a circular piece in the plastic missing. Should I work on trying to fix it or buy a delete kit?

By fix do you mean try to repair your broken one or are you talking replace the tps vs delete the tps?

I would never delete the tps. Read thru this thread before you make the decision to delete your tps.

I also wouldn't try repairing your broken tps if you want a reliable working part.

I haven't researched this, but it has been suggested that a tps off a similar year minivan can be converted for use on our trucks. I would explore that option. I did find that the clockspring on an early 90's minivan works on our trucks.

That is why folks are spending the 5 dollars to install a potentiometer from Radio Shack. A "delete kit" as you refered to it, is a potentiometer with the wires and connenctors. I don't knowwhat all that includes nor do I know who sell them.

I operate a garage and build by own varitey of kits for much much less. In other words, anyone who sells a "kit" sourced the products and packaged them to sell at a profit. Nothing wrong with that. But you can do the same and save $$$$.

That's exactly what I did to my rig 2 years ago except I used the stock tps bracket. I drilled the necessary holes to mount the new TPS - it's tricky because the holes need to be on the flared flange but with care and patience it can be done. My setup's been working fine for 2 years.
I was thinking to myself afterwards, why can't you reuse the orig bracket with modification. Perhaps a plate that the new tps mounts to that then mounts to the orig bracket with flush countersunk bolts.

When the time comes to replace mine I'm going to see if I can't come up with something. Has to be an easier way than making the new plate.
