Tpms question

1569 Views 16 Replies 13 Participants Last post by  tanksjeep
So now that its cold my tpms warns me every time I turn my truck on that my psi is low in both rear tires. It shows 59-63 psi and has gone up to 65 but the light doesnt shut off. I dont remember my light ever coming on at 65psi. Do you have to manually shut the light off somehow after u fill ur tires? Also what do you guys reccomend for winter driving psi? (Stock tires)

Mine did the same thing. Couldn't get it corrected so I used my mini maxx to disable it. Not a fix but less annoying
Yeah theres got to be a way to reset the warning because I dont think 65psi is "low"
I think you can use the light load button but first you need to fill your tires up to where its happy then click the button then you can air them down.

Something like that anyway. TPMS is dumb mine is also disabled.
Just dealt with this myself. To reset, simply get the tire that it is griping about to the pressure specified on the door and it will clear by itself. It doesn't matter if *you* don't think it is low or not . . . I think the threshold is down 10 psi to get a warning, and must get to specified pressure to clear (at least that is wbat mine appears to do).

Fill the lowe tire to 75 or almost 75 and the light will go out and stop flashing. Once You Do That you Can lower It again. Mine trips when sometimes when b it's real cold out

I had the same issue last week. The passenger rear tire pressure was flashing. Mine started warning me when the pressure went under 60 psi. I filled it up to 65 psi and it would still flash. I had to fill it up to over 70psi, then the light went out.
I wish there was a way to have TPMS but disable the warnings. That way I could still check tire pressure easily but not have it beeping at me if I put less air in them than they think I need. You can disable with the MM or XRT Pro, but it disables it completely.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for soon out of a tuner or even the dealer.
I'd love to just be able to see what the pressures are without the warnings if I want to air down.

Hopefully someone will come out with something soon.

Mine took 68-70 for the light to stop blinking.
Don't forget about the spare tire. That has got me before when the TPMS kept going off and my tires all read ok. Such a PITA.

Perhaps I am missing something here but why do you guys not use the 'light load' button?
I run mine at 50 psi I think with light load as stated above you guys not have light load?

Does TPMS monitor the spare? I don't think mine does.

I'm running the light load, problem I'm having is once I get the fronts up to 60 where you can press the light load and air down to say 50, as cold as it's been at night when I get in my truck in the morning the pressures have dropped down to around 45 and the damn warning light goes back on. Now I have to re-air buck up to 60 to get it to go off.

Mine does, it has caused a low tire pressure on my dash before. Most times the spare tire has been the issue since I forget about it when I'm checking the other tires.

Not on my 2012 either...I think the TPMS goes to sleep unless the tire is rotating. I think I read that somewhere. And that would explain why you have to drive your truck around after airing up or down to refresh the display.
