Ok so I started another thread about the trucks I'm looking at to buy this week. I found this one Untitled Document (the red 06 3500 4x4 Mega Cab) like two months ago for 30k and now its down to 25k I know I can get them to sell it for 25K out the door and its basically everything I want except the guy told me that they used to haul quarter horses around. It has the fifth weel hitch and 79k on the clock, my question is how much longer before the tranny goes?!?!?!?!?!? I really like this truck but am affraid of the auto that has been hauling a fifth wheel full of horses around. I dont even know if it was in FL cause then it would have been mostly flat towing. I know that towing kills the life of your truck but by how much I dont wanna buy a truck only to replace the tranny in a few months.

Anyone with any input on this or has experienced it please LMK.

I'd rather buy a diesel thats seen somework and got a few miles on it as far as the engine goes. trans is a different story. as long as they were hauling horses around they were takin it easy at least so maybe its ok. Just be nice to it.

That looks to be a dam clean truck. Wich would make me think they probaly took care of it and didn't beat the chit out of it. If it's fine now it probaly wont develop a problem after you buy it. Do you plan on towing anything? Unless your planing on towing something really big I wouldn't worry about it. See if they will through in some kind of warranty? $25k out the door would be a good price IMO....

Ya I'd say if they were hauling horses they wouldn't floor it at every light so they probably took it fairly easy.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but I dont plan on doing any towing except maybe a few times a year nothing huge. They wont give any kind of warranty on the truck but another place I'm looking gives a 12 month warranty and I'm looking at a a 07 beautiful blue quad cab with 89k on it.
