I'm looking at buying a gooseneck flatbed and fifth wheel camper. My truck has a 4.5" fab tech lift kit and I'm wondering if any of you have towed them with a lift kit? Any issues?

Thanks!!!

That lift only raises the rear 2" so the only issue you should look at is if they did the rear right and the bump stops are in the right place....

I cant speak for the 5th wheel but you should be fine for a gooseneck. The newer ones have plenty of "neck" clearance and adjustable couplers. Older goosenecks are a bit shorter on the neck and normally have rigid couplers, older trucks were not near as tall as newer ones.

Well I just looked and there aren't any bumpstops in the rear at all. They deleted then I guess. Do I need some?

Get some Firestone bags, you will want them down the line anyway and they replace your bumpstops.

I would be concerned with a couple of things.
1. Are the components of the lift kit rated at the same capacity as the factory ones? Some are but some aren't.

2. The angle of your trailer. It might only be a rear lift of 2", but that could make a huge difference. On my truck when the bed is level with the airbags, the trailer sits a smidge higher in the front. I had to lower my 5th wheel hitch to compensate. But now it is as low as I can go without hitting the bed sides. That is with a stock rear suspension. With a 2" lift in the back my trailer would sit high in the front all the time. Not necessarily a good thing. Something to think about.

usually with lift and fifth wheel you at least have to put some 4x4 blockss under front legs of fifth wheel to get it high enough to slide kingpin in

My dad pulls a 38' 5er with a ferd with a 6" lift. He had to give the trailer a spring over to keep it level. I think he uses a 6x6 block under the jacks, and under the rear stabilizer jacks
