I have a free, freshly rebuilt s400 class turbo that I would like to use as the bottom turbo for towing twins.
The turbine measurements are:
Inducer- 87mm
Exducer- 77mm
11 blade, & has a T-6 divided housing with a A/R 1.15.
The compressor side is too small right now (62mm) but is cheap to upgrade it.
So If I upgrade the compressor to a 72mm, or 70mm? will that work with either my stocker, or the 62/65/13ss I have now, & stock fuel system?(will get some 50HP sticks when the time comes) Looking for good high altitude towing performance. Not max HP.
Thanks.

That's what I thought. I'm wondering if a smaller exhaust side will help with faster spool, or if it will hurt from higher drive pressure. If i have to change both sides to bigger housings I might as well just buy a s475.

The 1.15 should be fine.

Dangit!!! I just pulled the compressor housing off, & the band clamp, & mounting surface is the smaller one of the s400's, (6 1/4" instead of 7 1/4") so i don't think I can get a 75mm wheel, & housing for it. Now I'm bummed!
