2000 Ram 2500 A/T with light mods, no tranny mods.

Between 30 and 40mph if I give my truck around 10-40% throttle it will start jerking and slipping as the torque converter keeps locking and unlocking. I've been letting my family drive it lately with specific instructions on how to care for the transmission (No overdrive in town is at the top of my list) and I'm thinking they've just been giving it hell.

Anyway, the tranny gets to around 150 degrees on a 70-80 degree day which is around right, a little warmer than normal I thought but nothing to write home about. The fluid on the dipstick looks and smells good, however there are a few bubbles on it when I go to pull it out. Also, I'm going to double check but I believe it MIGHT be leaking from a tranny cooler line. If it IS leaking from a tranny cooler line, could air in the system cause these symptoms?

Thanks!

you could go to xtreme diesel and order a bd apps noise isolator. I have heard nothing but good about them, and mine is on the way.

ok there is a VERY easy and free fix for that problem. ok there is a ground cable that runs from your alternator and it clips to your battery tray, it should have a connector unplug the connector and wrap the wire around your intake tube that pulls the wire far enough from the battery and puts a stop to the disruptupted signal, or you can wrap that wire starting from the alternator to just past the battery in aluminum foill or equivilant and that blocks it out both work AMAZINGLY on my person truck i just wrapped it around the intake tube goin to the turbo

there is a thread at the top of this forum on T C Lock Up issues. It deals effectivelly with unlock issues. HOWEVER THAT IS NOT YOUR PORBLEM BY YOUR DESCRIPTION!!!!!
Your issue is a slipping torque converter. It is fubarred. The clue is you are getting into the throttle some when it happens. These engines with your mods makes tremendous torque at those part throttle openings you speak of. Replace the VB with a good high pressure one and a upgraded torque converter along with a performance rebuild.
