Price seems right for the region. Buddy paid $16,500 for an almost identical truck (auto vs manual) about 18 months ago, and it had 160k on the clock then.

I'd buy a 3rd gen long before a 2nd gen for $15k!
Agree, If you aren't in desperate need for a truck I'd shop around a little bit. Based on the fact that a few have gotten similar nice trucks for less and I think you could find a pretty decent third gen for around that price....That truck does look to be in decent shape though. Is it a 53 block?

All depends of the area. I know if that was in pa it would sell for that all day long. It doesn't sound like too bad of a deal especially if it's rust free

It looks like he wants what he paid for the upgrades. The interior isn't as clean as the rest. Perhaps because he works it but people that clean the outside usually clean the inside.

New AD? Mine is running fine but I bought it before people reported problems. He'll keep the truck for a while at that price or find what he wants & get reasonable on this one to finance the new.

Keep looking. FWIW, I don't consider 138,000 low mileage. The rest of the truck will need stuff unless he's taken care of it. We know the seat is trashed. What about trans, clutch, steering.

As dirty as it looks on the inside I would say no that to me means he doesn't take care of his stuff . If your going to sell a truck for top dollar ok but it should look spotless just my opinion and I am guilty of paying top dollar for trucks I even just paid 11k for my first gen . That said if it's everything you want as in color package trans engine cab ect then don't let it pass

About 5 years ago my dad bought his truck bone stock at 116k miles in emaculate condition for $16k. About two years ago I bought my truck with 200k mile for $10.5k but it had bad paint edge comp, clutch, bumpers, toolbox. That was a good price on both of them. It seems like a clean 2nd gen will hold the price a lot better than 3rd gens. I think because there are very few that are clean and rust free.

thanks

Thanks for all the input. I havnt viewed the truck yet, so I can't answer most of the questions. Hopefully I will get a chance to check it out next weekend. The truck has been up online for a few weeks and the asking price hasn't dropped so I believe the owner isnt taking offers. I've been doing the same with my duramax so I can't blame him.

Almost a year ago I bought mine with a new injection pump and lift pump for $13,800. The interior was perfect and exterior was darn close, it had a few aftermarket parts like the cowl hood, some 20" rims and isspro gauges. I got it with 112,000 miles and felt like it was a good deal, they were asking 18,000 but I told them what I would pay and they came down. Shop around, you might find one with lower miles for less!
