Has anyone seen or used this muffler? Anyone know anything of it or have any actual results with it? Just seen it on the DPP website, looks quite neat, even it costs 400, that's still an awesome idea I'm into if it claims what it says...

I wonder how much drone it reduces? That would be nice for towing or highway cruising at higher rpm's.

That's what I'd like to know... I miss the sound of my truck's open exhaust, but love the interior sound of it with the FTE resonator... This would be like my choice when I'd want it to be quiet/loud... Anyone know of any who has one?

I like a little more info on the remote lever? Doesn't say much about this option. I hoping it would be nice, if its electric of some sort so you can adjust it when your going down the road. I like the idea but climbing under the truck to change back and forth could suck. But if it can be done from in the cab while driving, then I may buy one. I'm that person that has changed my exhaust every 3 weeks from straight to a resonator. I love the straight pipe but on the highway I hate the drone.

I ordered one in 5". Should be here this week. Hope to put it on next week if I get time. I post feedback on it. Yea 400 bucks hope its worth it :thumbsup: somebody gotta be the guinea pig:hehe:

Also I have a 17" fte resonator on now, so I will remove that to compare.

Please let us know your findings, and if you can take pictures of it/installed as well! I have a FTE resonator on too and wondering if these two work similar in reducing drone in the cab, cause i still miss that open exhaust sound

Well I installed the muffler today. She is heavy a piece lol. 1st impression its little louder then running a 17 fte resonator. Its not as loud as a straight pipe no muffler even open it still acts like a muffler some what. When closed its seems to be a lot quieter and less drone then compared to my 17" resonator. Which I do like for the highway use. I was running 95-100 mph, around 2500 rpms, and only thing I can hear is my tires screaming. Very little drone :thumbsup: which was nice. I still need little more time to get a feel for it . Bottom line is, it does what its advertised to do. I would've liked it to be alittle louder when open, however drone is still down vrse straight no muffler. Only thing that puzzles me is when its closed it force the exhaust up around the 5" straight pipe through the middle, its like a dead end, then it has to go around. Note I have a second gen swap so my egts are much lower then stock manifold and turbo. So its gotta put a little back pressure on the exhaust. I did watch egts both when open and closed I really didn't see a difference in temps open vrs closed. Is it worth the money? Well I will say this its a nice piece there was time and quality put into making it. Its buy no means some cheesy junk thrown together. :thumbsup: I would say price reflects the materials, and build quality.

The kit came with a cable kit, so you don't have to get under the truck to open and close the flap. However I didn't install that yet not really sure if I will. I really don't see me changing back and forth that much. Its pretty easy to change just a thumb screw and slide the lever. Its located right on the side of the muffler.

old post but i figured i'd put my experience in. bought on in 4 inch and after about 4 months i finally put it on. open and closed you can hear the difference and towing is nice with it closed......however after about 2-300 miles it started to leak everywhere. tried to tighten it up with no luck, took it apart and realigned everything and still leak. waiting for dpp to respond with a fix, hope fully new gaskets or replacement.
