I have a 2.5" HBS leveling kit sitting in the garage that I just bought in hopes of running 315's well now I'm undecided. I am afraid of getting death wobble and just not sure if it's worth it. If this were your truck what would you fellas do?

How much did it kick out the axel to the side? Also how do you like the look of the 2.5" kit I almost feel like I should have gone with the 2" version.

Honestly I haven't noticed it kicked out more to one side or another at all... And it's not higher than the back at all I feel that a 2" wouldn't be enough honestly but that's just my 2 cents.. I've never measured it since it's been on

Well that puts me at ease a little more would you by chance be able to post some pics of the truck? This is just making me nervous I don't want to mess up a nice truck just because I want to run a larger tire. It's a tough call I have the kit in the garage and am about to buy the tires this weekend and I'm torn between the 285/70/17 and the 315/70/17 the price is only $26 more for the set of 315's so I want them but right now am very unsure.

I have 2" HBS spacers 5100s in mine since about 1k on odometer. It threw my axle off about an inch. Ended up buying the Thuren track bar to fix it. AS far as DW i have not seen any idications of it 10k miles later. But still tense up down on certain stretches of highway. Always in the back of my mind.

If it were me I would install them so I could fit the 315s. 285s look too stock for me.

Or try the 315s on first and see if you can live with the rubbing. Before I leveled I had 295/70-18s (~34.2" tall), and it had a minor rub at full lock. I had no plans to level but it annoyed me.

Install the leveling kit and 315's tires. If you experience any DW get a trac bar from carli or thuren and problem is solved. Sucks, but pays to play. 315's look right at home on these trucks. I went with a 2" leveling kit on my truck to have slight rake maybe ~1/2" beats the ~2-1/2" I had factory though.

Ironhead, truck look great. How do you like the Fierce tires?
Thanks! I like them so far. Only have 12,000 or so on them. Seem to do everything well. Just need to see how long they last.

I took some pics but can only email them also I had never noticed until I checked today but it is definitely off on the driver side by I'd say 1/2 an inch to 3/4 of an inch farther out then the passenger side

Over 30K miles here with the same kit. No signs of death wobble.

Well here is my story: 1st went with 285s but still looked small to me, then I hated the low nose look so then went on the level kit. Didnt like the stock shock so 5100's were installed. When I took off new stock shocks I couldnt believe how weak they were. Next the axle being over to the drivers side drove me insane so on went the adjustable trackbar. Then came the 35s which do rub. Thats my story..oh the 18 plus MPG down to 12 mpg.

12mpg!!!!!! Are you kidding me? If that's the case I'm going to stick with what I've got now I am sitting at 19-20mpg. Are the rest of you guys getting the same? If so that's going to be a deal breaker for me.

Also how do you like the fierce m/t I looked at them but the kelly safari tsr was $68 per tire cheaper so I am going to be getting them almost the identical tire as the duratrac and fierce. Plus I had them on my last truck and got 55k miles off of them granted that was a mega cab 1500.

So the tire shop quoted me $256 to install the leveling kit and do an alignment. Does that seem to be on the high side to anyone else but me?

Rubbed? That's odd I have 34.4" tall tires on there now stock no level and no rub at all. They are nitto terra grapplers 285/75/17. I like the size just not the tire they are at about 30% tread and horrible on anything but dry pavement. In the rain I can not even keep up with traffic off of a stop light they just spin no matter how light you are on the pedal. And on a wet boat ramp they are a joke. For $1200 per set they leave a lot to be desired.

My sig truck averages 12 mpg or maybe a hair over that. I imagine it will drop to 10 when I put 37's on. That's one reason I'm planning to replace my 3.73 gears with 4.56 gears (to get back some of the fuel mileage and power you lose when installing larger tires).

Yes they tried them out for me at discount tire and they rubbed and started to pull off my fender flares the stock ones. I am running the Nitto Trail Grapplers no traction problems here I've had them for 8000 miles now. Idk how the tire numbers work but we tried a "true" 35inch tire what ever that was an had to move down to a 33" I plan on running a less aggressive tire next time in hopes of being able to go a little bigger because the tread was what hit not sure if it will work or not tho
