Amen to the tint! I live in South Florida and I make damn sure the tint shop is one of the first places I go after picking up a new ride. I put 30% all the way around. It looks great, and I can still see my mirrors and surroundings clearly at night. Make certain that your tint installer uses a good quality metallic tint with UV protection. You can easily see if it's good stuff by looking at a sample with a pair of polarized glasses. You'll see stripes and distortion in a good tint.
Something else that helps me a lot is putting up a windshield reflector when I park. It makes a tremendous difference in the heat, and amount of time it takes to cool off when I get back on the road.
As far as the A/C, I notice that mine is mediocre at start up and idle, but once I am moving, It cools down quickly. Perhaps it's because of the low RPMs, but I am going to put a gauge on it when I get a chance anyhow.
