I installed the cable today and it made my fuel pedal hard as hell to press down. I pulled it out, lubed it up with roller chain lube and it moves fine. I checked the lever on the tranny and it moves great. It seems like there is alot of tension from the spring on the cable. My question is, why wont it move freely when installed? thanks Josh

I have read and followed that write up. Which was very helpfull, but it still is very stiff. I forgot to add one thing, it is out of a truck with a 518. I did not think they were different, but are they? Josh

i couldnt imagine them to be different because the are basically the same tranny but you might be better off replacing it with a new cable. apparently age does effect the quality of them. Im actually looking at replacing mine with a new one from cummins because my pedal is a nightmare to hold after 60mph.

Also consider this....

When I did the throttle mod my tv timing was off. So I adjusted it alittle tighter to where it shifted perfect at mid and wide open throttle. It only shifted a little latemat partcial throttle. Nothing too annoying.
