The adjustable throttle shaft on the front of the motor (one with ball joints) is REALLY sloppy and needs replacement. The shaft almost falls off the ball. 2 questions. Is the adjuster rod 1/4" ? Also can an aftermarket throttle end such as sold by Summit or Mr. Gasket be used to replace both ends of the shaft (part # mrg 3810g).
The original parts are no longer available through DODGE and there are none to be had according to my local DODGE dealer. These were a recall back ??? but looks as if mine was never done. Truck is a 91.

Thanx

Some people make there own the stock one is left and right threads. You can get the ends at lawn and garden repair stores and use 1/4 threaded rod.

Here is the Cummins part No. for the setup, 4089076. This has the steel ends instead of plastic like alot of them are.

Hey

Thanx for the info. I am going to check out HEIM joints also.
Get the heim joints.

Mine looks like this. It's a lot more reliable than the plastic stock crap and even have what look like grease certs on them. I can get the exact online link that I bought mine from if you cannot find them.

I like the original linkage, the dirt and water doesn't get into the pivot balls.
