I got my Airdog 150 installed recently myself. ALone! I dropped tank and did all install myself but was hard because it was only me. So 2 people would help alot.
Anyway Drawstraw should be installed on the circle area right infront of the sender which is about the middle of the tank.
Also I think many people having issues with the pressure and hard starts are because of Drawstraw location and Draw Straw cut short.

I cut mine maybe 1/4" max. It hits the bottom of tank and I put some notches in both bottom edges.

I never have that low fuel issue.

Also I would replace that factory small PU line which is 3/8 and weak plastic. So it is a good deal to go with the 150 with straw.

A tip I got when frustrated pusing in the blue hose is a heat gun or/and hot boiling water makes it easy and grease!

Airdog150 and really happy.

01dodge I think its Draw Straw placement. Or cut to short. I see a difference in pressure when truning but I'm at under 1/8 tank and light has been on for some time. THat means I have 8 gals~ left. 8 gals on this long tank makes fuel move aroaund easy.
IU would try repositioning or getting longer straw!

rOCK CUSTOM I would see if youhave air at any connections hose or fittings. Also do you hear always the pump prime then you start?
I always wait to hear prime pump and then start. I rarely look at the wait to start light becasue around here its always way hot!
But sometimes if the pump doesnt prime the VP is emty an needs more fuel to build pressure to start injectors spray!

Your sucking air somewhere then. I would double check all connections then. Also how bout the original sender on the tank. What did you do with the old P/U tube and how bout the pin hole plastic connnection. ITs a breather for the tank. You didnt plug it did you. I pluged the original PU and replaced the plastic lines from frame to tank for return.
Check it out.

01dodge, my truck wouldn't even run when it showed a bit more than 1/8th of a tank. I filled it up and as of now I don't know how low I can go until it starves. In order to find out, I'd need to be prepared and have some fuel with me to get me to a station.

Actually, now that I look at Mopar1973Man's website, I think I may have installed it in the wrong spot. Logically, I thought the best place to install it is in the rear. So I chose the flat spot at the rear of the tank. That's what I thought most people did. I'm thinking I was wrong. :(

If you look at the two tall humps below, Michael installed his on the left side (towards the front of the truck) and I installed mine on the right side (towards the rear).

It's looking like I'll need to relocate the draw straw and patch the hole I cut. Dang.

Yeah, I'm thinking I just installed it in the wrong location and it happened to be the tallest part of the tank. I don't recall the instructions actually recommending a particular location, though. I must be blind, 'cause I read them about a dozen times!

My drawstraw is touch the bottom. I cut 2 opposite sides on the bottom so it would suck some fuel either way. So it has to be really empty to not get fuel. I angle cut the tube on 2 sides.
But my tube is touching the bottom slightly!!

Im also installed it in the slat spot infront of sender like MooparMan did!
Got no way of taking pics.

You cant go by AIrdog's instruction because all trucks tanks are different and their pic is not a Dodge 98-02 tank.

Some friends came by yesterday to help me lift the bed off the truck so I could figure out how to address the draw straw issue. Basically, I had two options.

1. Plug the existing hole near the rear of the tank and put a new hole near the original fuel pick-up area.

2. Extend the length of the straw and keep it where it was.

Here you can see what I had to work with:

I elected to go with option 2. I picked up a union and extended the straw so that it was just barely off the bottom of the tank. Then I cut 3 V-notches into the straw. Things went smoothly and it fired up first try. So I took it for a test drivw. FYI, I had about 5/8th of a tank of fuel.

At the first stop I made, my Edge beeped at me again for low fuel pressure. UGH!! So even though the straw is damn near on the bottom of the tank it still sloshes around enough to starve.....even on low speed stops!

I realize my mounting location is farther rearward than most, but if you look at the pic above you'll see I really only have two places to use: the flat spot I used or the somewhat crowded area near the original pick-up and sending unit. A short bed setup doesn't leave many options. So I guess I'll have to do it all again and this time I'm thinking I'm going to try to drill straight into the top of the pick-up assembly and hopefully get the straw into that baffle.

I tell you what. I wish Pure Flow would offer an insert to replace the OEM pick-up/sending unit that would have a fitting for the hose. I'd have bought that in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I mounted it to the rear so it wouldn't starve on acceleration. Seemed logical to me and since the instructions didn't say anything about, I went for it.....only to have issues and to find out everyone else put it farther forward.

I really want it so draw from the baffled area of the original pick-up, though. I want to run down to below 1/8th of a tank without my low fuel pressure alarm going nuts everytime I slow down or stop!

I put the 150 on mine the install went great. I will agree on the hose and fittings that sucked. I am still having hard start issues but I had them before I put the airdog on so I am still looking for the problem. I have a ? for you airdog 150 guys. Whenever I hit some washbords on a gravel road I can here the pump hit the bottom of my cab. any body else have this problem and what can I do to fix this. I am sure it is not good for it. thanks mike

yeah, its a tight fit to the cab. i moved mine back towards the tank, and actually rotated it a little bit.

You sure it is hitting & not a bad tranny mount or lower arm bushing?
