Gloom and doom Robert Hirsch, Management Information Services Senior Energy Advisor, gave a nasty warning about the potential future of gas prices on CNBC’s May 20 “Squawk Box”.

Bottom line was that he expects gas prices to go up to $12 - $15 per gallon.

Hard to believe any of this is possible, but check it out:

I just LOVE speculation.............:BS:
2nd that Rookie
why do they even bother telling us? it's going to be what it's going to be and they can't and won't do anything to help. they're saying "hey you people are ed, and we're going to make sure you know it's going to get worse." " oh, and we won't do anything to help."
there will be riots in the streets and assasinations on big oil execs before fuel gets to
$10 / gal.

seriously. the only reason we hear that prices will go up is to fuel speculation and to prepare us to take it deeper in the poop chute.
This is exactly how they do it.. They tell you that it's gonna be some ridiculous price and eventually gets there. People expect it coming.

We are already over $5.00 a gallon here in Canada. And now you got to pre-pay most places before they even turn the pump on. It's maddening.
Going to be a front row seat for the next Road Warrior Movie:kill:Just be prepaired I know I will:gun2:
Mark my word.... we will go into a depression before fuel hits $10 a gallon...

I'm already going into a deep depression.... LOL

Filled up last night before the prices jump again. It felt like I was getting a good deal @ $4.49 a gallon.

read what you just wrote, I thought it was a good idea to fill up at 4.49 a gallon! F* that, this crap is out of control, how are people supposed to survive?

I 3rd that about riots in the streets is fuel prices keep climbing.

Yeah at $10/gallon our economy will come to a screeching hault. Nobody (except for the big oil exec's making $4 million per year) will be able to afford to work. Unemployment will go through the roof, as well as home forclosures. There will be mass suicides because of this. Businesses will go bankrupt. Murder rates will increase. Nobody will have insurance because they quit their jobs so preventable deaths will increase, preventable disease will strike too. It will be chaos, pure chaos. Who is going to want to spend more on gas than they do on their mortgage? Who is going to want to work when all they are doing is making enough to fill up their tank to get to work and back? It will be madness. F**king tree huggers!
Tree huggers out here are all riding bicycles and saying "told you so".

Oh, how I hate them. :rof

What kind of quarter mile times can one pull down on a bicycle?
if it gets to $10/gal we will all be standing in line at the supermarket waiting to get our ration of meats and veggies cuz the truckers cant afford to fill up. just like in russia.
i'm tellin ya, murder rates will increase. high schoolers and college kids will not be able to afford to drive to school for a better eduation so they look to mommy and daddy.

we'll be in the ration line at the pump as well. this is a serious turnign point in our economy depending on which way the prices continue to go in the near long term.

feeling like your getting a deal at $4.50/gal is called conditioning. its the same way a dog learns tricks. keep telling us that prices are on the increase and we're going to expect it. eventually, we'll be numb to it until something bad happens.

okay - :S:
Hey! OMG I didn't mean to inject this kind of hysteria into the forum.

If it's geared right you could hit 70.
If it's geared right you could hit 70.
Well, not in the quarter.
If oil goes to 200 dollars a barrel Diesel will be around 8.00/ gallon. 400 a barrel is out of the question.
