I've been reading quite a bit on tires as I'm in the market for some new tires as well.

From everything I have read 35s will rub with or without lift.

I think I have settled on 285 75 17 for my truck. Bigger than stock, but should not have any rubbing issues...

What about 315 70 17 it's a little shorter and a tiny but narrower anyone tried them nitto makes one in the trail geappler
I used to run that size in a A/T and it didn't rub. That being said it wasn't an aggressive tire with side lugs like my M/Ts. If it had side lugs I would say it would most likely rub that tire is about 34"

i have 325/70/17s on stock wheels, i get no rubbing whatsoever. when i bought them i was expecting some rubbing on the control arms but was surprised once i put them on there was nothing. I'm not sure if its the tire i have (Falken Wild Peak) due to a thinner tread width or not but i have no complaints with them.

I have a 2010 2500 mega cab will 35 12.5 17 fit with NO rubbing at stock height I know stuff is all over but I can't find a clear answer thanks for the help
I think it really depends on the tire. If you go with one of the wider tires or a tire that has an aggressive sidewall tread then it will rub. For example, Nitto Trail Grapplers and Toyo M/T's are bother 13.2" wide and have sidewall tread. They'll rub pretty bad with no leveling kit. Some others, however, may rub very little or not at all. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to mount them and drive around.

If you're looking for E rated 35's there's a thread in the tire and wheel forum that has a running list of what's available in all terrain or mud terrain tires.

in my humble opinion... 285/75/17 is the perfect size for none lifted trucks.

Got so many miles on my dura-grapplers, I couldn't even tell you when I bought them - its been that long. Part iron I think
Do you drive in any snow? If so how are those dura grapplers in the snow and wet?

We just got 5-6 inches here in STL. Truck does great in 4x4 in snow (over concrete), as expected though it does poorly in snow-over-dirt when ground is not frozen, too muddy.

In other words, they do fine for me in most conditions, but snow w/mud takes alot of RPM to get rolling. Perfect since STL gets only 3-4 snows a year and street are usually clear in hours.
