September 17th 2018 i placed the order of my truck. mega cab Laramie G56. picked it up on December 15th. i know i ordered within less than a week of the cut off point to order an 18. its been confirmed (talked to guy at dealer and have read several places) that the G56 is discontinued for 2019 and can assume beyond that. so that being said there is a chance i may have one of the last or the last G56 trucks. i contacted Chrysler to try to get some info. they say that build sequence info is unavailable and production stats wont be untill march of 2019. ill call back in march to see what i can squeeze out for info. guy at dealer was able to find out that his hellcat is a 1 in 8 car for that year. but there may be no way to tell ever what the last truck is. ram could build a bunch of g56 trucks at the end of production to get rid of inventory. not sure. not sure if vin numbers are even sequential. so if you ordered a G56 truck late in the year i guess we can compare vin. for what its worth last digits are JG408818

Motortrend reported that the G56 will be available in 2019, I am not saying it's true but I wouldn't put to much thought into it until we know for sure.

Great looking truck. With nothing confirmed yeah or nay, you kind of feel pressured to buy a 2018 G56 just to make sure you get one in case it is ended.

I wouldn't be surprised either way on the 2019 truck. On the one hand, both the chassis and cab remain the same as before, so there really isn't a reason the G56 couldn't continue to be made available unless the new dashboard sticks out further or something.

On the other hand, the take rate is already very low and there are likely power (and maybe auto transmission) changes coming. The already large gap between manual transmission and auto transmission output would widen even further.

I bought one as well to ensure I got one, but mine is a lot more basic than yours - crew cab 4x4 dually in "loaded" Tradesman trim.

In Theory it would help resale on a G56 if they are no longer in production, although I don't know who would want to get rid of one for that reason, mine is gonna rust apart in my driveway before i sell it. Not saying I'm not going to get another AutoCummins down the road, just not getting rid of this. Then again with the way society is it going we are the last of a dying breed that wants to drive them so it may just be a wash and turn out to be the forgotten truck.

I'm ready to leave my G56 behind, but only when I get a 10-speed allison TC10 behind our 6.7 :)

And I guess I am different. I have driven enough 5X4’s, 9 speed, 10 speed, 13 speed, and 18 speed’s that I don’t miss them one bit. I like my Aisin, thank you!
But to each their own.

I think a lot of people are getting the carry over 19 HD confused w the all new 2020 HD. I don't think they would discontinue it. Mind you they recently gassed the dual exhaust on 2019 1500 classics after making lots with it so I guess I wouldn't put anything past them. I just took delivery of my G56 2018 2500 anyway. I'm all set LOL. BTW, NICE TRUCK OP!

I’m thinking the 2020 RAM HD will be exactly the same as a 2019. No way RAM is going to all the testing and effort only to release something all new less than a year later. I bet the “refreshed” 2019 design carries on through 2021.

No he didn't. He saw you coming. I assure you, you do NOT have the last or close to it, G56.

I was told 2019 model year is last of G56 - from what a "knowledgeable" salesperson told me - which makes more sense than 2018 being last. I assume once the 2019 orders are able to be up on the 2500/3500 you still can get G56

i sure hope Ram doesn't discontinue making the G56. if they did, they would lose my future business. I have no interest in a automatic transmission and will avoid them to the bitter end.
