I've been lurking and trying to do my research for a few months now. I've been wanting to put a Cummins in my 64 Dodge Crewcab. I've been searching for a 12 valve, but stumbled across a lightly rolled 99 24 valve 4 wheel drive 5 speed truck. To good of a deal so I picked it up. I will probably be asking for a lot of help, but I will try to do as much research as I can first so I don't repeat to many previous questions...

I would like to know how much you picked up that lightly rolled truck for! Looks like a Perfect donor truck!

Good Luck on the conversion!

Man you are a theif. Its hard enough to find a engine that need to be rebuilt for that price. There no any of us could have turned that down.

Yeah $1000 is the best deal I've ever seen on a wrecked truck, the front end alone is worth more than that. I bet you could sell it today for $4000-5000 easy.

If the frame on the 99 is good, why not just put the 64 body on top of it, then you'd have a modern drivetrain on a classic body. Either way sell off what's left of the 99 and you'll get your money back for sure.

Oh, some of those 99 Cummins engines had what they called a 53-block, which was prone to cracking on the right side water jacket. Check yours before you do the swap. Good luck. . . :D

I do plan on putting the body of the 64 on the newer frame. Might have to get a long bed and cut it down because the wheelbases are a little different..is the 53 block number cast onto the block? if so, where is it located?

I have a wiring schematic

If you need a copy off the wiring diagram I can email it to you. That will be a pretty easy conversion. I did a 78 ramcharger and the only problem I had was finding a Charge Air Cooler that would clear every thing good luck and if you have any questions please ask awy

My wife threw the idea into my head of putting my panel truck on the frame..It would take a lot of shortening and it's probably to wide. what do you guys think? just thought I would throw it out there:thumbsup
