Ok here's the dealo, I'm wanting twins but I'm having the ol headache of what manifold would work better. So far I have a BD T3 3 piece on a Bw screaming eagle and I want to throw an S480 under it here soon. Now should I stay T3 or should I go ahead and get a Steed Speed T4 and a T4 63/68/14? I know I already have a manifold and such but if the T4 will be better than I'm willing to sacrifice for something better. Any advise would help. And if anything I can always sale what I have.

To me it seems a T4 would be better cus the S480 is a T6 so to me that would work better together than a T3. Right?

Right on! The Steedspeed manifold is a work of art and the T-4 flange is used by most that do twins. Chevokeeman.

T4 will get more out of the setup.

:umno: 95% of street trucks are T3 based.
FYI- The T4 is larger, so it will flow more on the top-end, but as usual, will sacrifice the velocity that spools off the bottom end.

I figuared it would be ether or lol. Should I worry much about drive pressure with the T3? I am willing to sale my Mani and Turbo to get something that would make a difference in performance and longivety. It would suck though cus I only have 2K on my set up now

95% off all twins i see on the cummins engine are using a second gen t4 manifold......

T3 is pretty much the common setup.

If you think you'll have issues with a T3, all the numbers in my sig are on a T3 flanged manifold.

maybe things are done different in TN but i stand by what i have said i have yet to see a twin setup that is t3 setup unless its a stocker kit

I've done kits for folks all over this country and others.
90% T3 based secondary.
Source, Wicked, Poole, II, DPS, BD, ect. ALL T3 based kits. :confused013:
Take a gander through the twin pic threads, most are T3 secondary there too.:thumbsup:

all kits are t3 based but all the kits i have seen have been done with t4 weather it is a option the owner chose to do or the kit was designed to be used with a t4. the only t3 kits i have seen have a stock turbo in them.

ever actually talk to a company that makes t3 and t4 manifolds?
i have.... they made the t4 to fit turbos that have the larger housing.... but there is no difference in a t4 vs porter to match t3 to turbo

i was ready to spend the $$$ on a t4 manifold and t4 housing and was told to save my $$$

I have yet to to see a T4 flanged kit unless it was a spec'd setup.

Most of the common kits are T3 secondary into a T4 primary until you start going 480's or larger.

since this thread is pretty much answered, may i side track it and ask whats a safe port job thickness at 1600*? I have ported all my own stuff for years, but i never want to over due it, like taking down my material to thin allowing for cracks at high temps cycles.
