my 5th gear has started to grind for just a second before falling into gear if you try and shift above 1500RPM. if i let it drop below 1500 or so it falls right in. wondern if its the syncro. anybody else had this problem

it will always fall into gear if you float the gears when shifting.. sounds like a syncro is headed out the door , or maybe your clutch is going out and not disengaging itself all the way.? not sure if that would affect all gears, or just a certain one.

Ive been hearing alot of 'catchyness' with 5th gear on the G56's. . .some have done it since day one. . .others have gotten better with age, but still have that slight grind.

Mine has a slight catch going onto 5th since new. Never any grind, but it's like you can feel the syncro working, but I find if I rev a little higher like 2300 -2400 before shifting it is better.

I just noticed mine doing that and...

I just noticed mine doing the 5th gear noise and I now have 20G's on the odo. I also notice that sometimes when I am coming to a stop and down shift that I hear a very fast wierd chatter noise. That noise doesn't happen all the time though. I am sure its not the clutch, its a different chatter, it seems like I can feel it through the handshaker.
