So i swapped out turbos yesterday, stock for stock, and this one has a lot more whine to it.

The whistle seems to be the same along with boost and everything else.

any ideas:confused013:

does the turbine have a lot of freeplay or lateral play

no it didnt seem to at all. both, the one it took off and one i put on the shaft moved just a very little bit but not enough for the fins to touch the housing or anything like that.

the old(one i took off) may have moved just a little more but not much.

this said with me not knowing what too much "shaft play" is or is not as i have never seen/messed with a turbo w to much play/movement

Did one have a silencer ring and the other not?

they both still have the ring in. its not a whistle at all thats diff just a pronounced whine....kinda like a supercharged turbo LOL

.......had me guessing for a minute. I was almost positive that turbo still had the silencer in it.
