1 week and 5 days till lift kit and im really starting to wonder if im in over my head:thud:

my steering is a little loose and 35" toyo m/ts and 20x10 diesels arent going to help with anything so i know i need to do some steering mods

i have decided on this steering stabilizer
Thuren Fabrication- Dodge ram steering stabilizer kit

but thats not going to do all that much good with the stock trackbar

the thuren trackbar for 5"+ is out of stock and i havent been able to get in contact with anyone over there

and my understanding of the 3rd gen trackbar is minimal and doesnt seem like it would do much because my stock trackbar was replaced when the previous owner locked the steering and bent it so the ball joint isnt worn out

I NEED SOLUTIONS DEPERATELY because i have only 8 week days to get everything together or else i have to bump everything back a whole week

Did the previous owner replace the steering box? That could explain a loose steering for sure.
You may want to check all the ball joints is the steering setup as well as the ball joints. If it was me and I was going to use the truck off-road I would do a ram assist. Someone like redneck ram. If it is lose steering and not bump steer. Bump steer is caused by the tracking bar becoming loose or worn. 3rd gen does not have a ball joint. I have a 99 and I am not sure what kit you are running but I had a skyjacker. That kit came with a mount that dropped the frame mounting point of the track bar. I am running 39.5x18 boggers with the stock bar and no problems from it.

yes..new box, track bar, and ALL the ball joint were replaced 7k miles ago

my truck wanders enough as it is...
I agree with musclehead, check the steering box. Its what caused death wobble in three trucks I know of, including mine, all with stock suspensions.:beer
