Sudden Fuel pressure increase

Howdy,

2000 4x4 ram 3500 DRW with fass titanium lift pump. I'm running Baldwin 7633 filter and 1212 Water separator. Fuel pressure would sit at around 15-17 psi and it just jumped to 18-20 psi. Figured the filter ripped or something in that regard so I swapped the filter (7633) because I had an extra on hand and there's no decrease in pressure. Cracked open the water separator to inspect it and it dropped to 15 but rose again when I sealed it up. I noticed a real drop in economy so that's my main concern any one know why this would be happening?
