moparfan1234, I have the same set up as you. A single 12(JL here) between the seats really hits hard and sounds great.

for the 200 watts my sub can take it really hits hard with the vented box i have. you can feel it when it hits. plus you can hear it clearly for about 4 blocks word for word bass note to bass note. you can hear it farther away but it starts to get hard to know for sure what song is being played.

im thinking on puting one of these 15" M 3's i have laying around in there. it will be alot of work building the custom box for it. since i have a reg cab with a manual makes it hard. i was thinking i would need to use all the room behind the seats plus between the seat and i would end up with about a 3.5-4 cubic foot box.

also good choice with JL there a grate sub:thumbsup:

10" JL dub 1 or dub 3 under the rear seat(s) and a JL amp. Sure you can go the cheap route, but IMHO do it once and do it right.

If you are going to put them under the seat it will be pointless to make a vented enclosure because u simply will not have enough volume for the subwoofer to perform properly. Another thing about vented vs. sealed is the safety factor. These are trucks and odds are they are going to be gettin off roaded and bumped around. Sealed enclosures protect subs from these impacts and bumps unlike vented. And it also depends on the type of music u listen to. If you prefer rock or country a sealed box provides tighter, more responsive bass while vented boxes are usually more "boomier" and suited to rap type music.

been a while since I have been into the stereo thing but when I was in it, the subs seemed to be more and more wanting a sealed box.

back in the day most subs wanted about 2sqft of space for a vented box. where you could get away with 1 -1.5 sqft for a sealed box. (12' sub)

things may have changed , but I can't see them changing that much

partly right. sounds like you are thinking ported box they are kinda boomy. a vented box can be tuned to what ever music you like. i have a set of subs here in a sealed box and a 2nd set in a vented box i custom made. all the subs are 15" M3's and the way i have the vented box tuned it is alot tighter then the ones in the sealed box.

yea prefab box's will have that boomy sound to them and more for rap. but build a vented right and it can be tighter bass then you could ever think they could be.

I have the same set up as you, the CVX's hit hard, just imagine if we could have more air space.

ya i love the CVX's. I was told that the cubby hole area under the seats can be removed. I thought about doing it and building a custom box that would fill the hole area. then do some JL W0's or something.
