Sub options

I would like a system for my truck. I have always had cars so space was really never an issue. I would love to have a JL W7 10" but I dont think there is anyway to make it fit in the backseat. What do you recommend for subs under the seat. Thanks

They make boxes that will fit under the seat in the back.... or I built a 2inch body lift (lol) for my buddies back seat so he could fit his subs under the seat.... just took some 2" tubing and made extendor brackets to raise the seat up 2 inches to clear
Would it be possible to put two JL W3 10s under the back seat?
yea my buddy had 2 crossfire 12's under his seat after we lifted it
so without lifting the back seat, do you think you could fit them under there?
with the right box i would say yes... but i would test and messure first...but you will NOT be able to have your amp built into the box and fit....you'll need to place it behind the seat or fab up some box for it to fit under the passenger seat but somewhere that it can get good air to cool
keep in mind this was on a 04 so i dunno how much they have changed the compartment under the back seat just FYI
I have one of these. It can be loaded with whatever 12" round speaker you want to put in it that will fit and utilize the airspace properly.

you will not be able to mount a JL W3 under the seat unless you raise the set up with a spacer, unless that is the newer underseat compartments are deaper, in the 04's they are only 7.5 inches deep and after you make the box and so on you can only get a max of 7 inch mounting depth with being able to sit in the back seat and the W3's have a mounting depth of 6.89ichs so they will sound horrible as they will bottom out in the box because of not having enough air space. i tried them and didn't like them at all so went to the W1's instead and sound way better.
My buddy has an 07 with two 12" Diamond Audio subs on the backseat. He folded down the back seat behind the driver and built a box to fire one sub up and the other towards the front. You lose you spot for a passenger. I personally wouldn't do it, but it is an idea!
I have 2 Rockford Fosgate HX2, 8" subs. They are dual voice coil so they hit like are a pair of 10's and did no back seat mods.
i like jimmy johns myself.:w:
ohh wait a minute.....:lol3::lol3:

I have two JL 10W3V3 under my back seat, look into the stealth box from JL, it comes loaded with a W3 I think and it fits under middle of the front seat, I think they also make one for the rear but dont quote me on that.....
I LOVE JIMMY JOHNS, sorry we just got one about a month or so ago and I am still not over it....
in the 04's they are only 7.5 inches deep and after you make the box and so on you can only get a max of 7 inch mounting depth with being able to sit in the back seat and the W3's have a mounting depth of 6.89ichs so they will sound horrible as they will bottom out in the box because of not having enough air space.
Mounting depth and box size are 2 different things and have no relationship with each other. If your box wasnt big enough, thats one thing.your subs will sound fine with minimal clearance in the box with the correct airspace

That link doesnt work, do you have the address for it? thanks
you could do 1 w7 inbetween the front middle seat and the back middle seat, it takes a lot of measurements and an awsome fitting box, i have one L5 10 kicker in a fiberglass box that i built it will fit a L7 10 also, its got a decent amount of air space too
i have a 12 that came out of my previous truck. do you think i could get it to fit under the back seat?
Go with a shallow mount and solve your problems. I had a Kicker Shallow mount in my Mega cab but it blew out unexpectedly. I replaced it with a MB Quartz Semi-Shallow 12''. It blows the Kicker away in sound quality and Mounting depth is 4.5'' if I remember correctly.

If your stuck on JL they make a shallow as well, is extremely expensive and the reviews aren't that great.
i have two JL audio w3 8's under back seat of 02' 2500. They are in factory JL boxes and they are ported. Sounds good but I would like a little more

I do want to sell the two and build a custom center console box with JL 8'w7 or 10' and run it off my 300/2 till I can get a 500/1.
