I was looking through the 2004.5 manual in the glovebox for no apparent today, and I came upon :

Do I not have a passenger side airbag?

Standard cabs only have the switch, QC you can ride in the back so you dont have a switch to turn the air bag off.

I believe it is that way for car seats if I remember correctly. However, the wiring for it is still there.

ah hah...i had my dash apart the other day and there was a connector that dead ended into a connector right behind where that switch would go. guess thats what its for.
