Took some friends to the lease the other night to lay the smack down on the coyotes and got stuck. This isn't my first rodeo (being stuck) so I always try to be careful where I park this heavy anchor. The top soil was hard but underneath was nasty. We pulled in no problem but after we hunted a bit when I went to back out it wouldn't move an inch. Long story short, after all night and a 75hp tractor we got it out without tearing anything up.

I'm running the factory transforce A/Ts which I knew weren't a mud tire, but thought they would be better than what they are. Wrong. Going to lace this truck up like my last one with some Trail Grapplers. Probably going to do a 3" BDS as it would have been helpful to have the front end higher because the bumper ended up acting like a mud scoop.

The local discount tire offered me a good deal on their MB TKO wheels (18") although I think I would like to have 20s. Does anyone have these wheels or have any pics of them on their truck? I think they look decent but would really like to see them on a truck first.

I couldn't resist going through some mud when I first got my 13; & it's 2wd!!
Your on the right track with the Trail grapplers (I loved mine), but I would suggest you look into a set of Thuren leveling coils on your 2500. The ride quality is something else (I love mine on my 13)
Also since you obviously do put the truck to use & wind up off-road; I'd stick with an 18" rim with a 295/70/18 trail grappler tire. Keep the wheel from getting damaged & scratched up in the dirt/mud.

that's going to take a while to clean! Glad nothing was damaged
No joke. At one point I was getting pretty desperate (all 4 tires on the tractor were spinning and the bucket was just moving dirt) so I thought we would try pushing the truck back forward a little so I lined the bucket up on the ball and tried to push. I was praying nothing broke or slipped causing the tractor to end up in the bed. It didn't. But it also didn't move the truck.

I finally got it out by turning the tractor the other way. For whatever reason, even with all 4 spinning, it still came out going thay way.

Get a 2 1/2 inch receiver hitch for the front and a winch on a hitch plate. For a simple stuck like that, done.

As far as cleanup goes, get an oscillating sprinkler and turn it on under the truck. I usually run it from the front to the back, turn it on, then pull it forward a few feet every 10 minutes or so. You can set it on the tires to clean the wheel wells also.

I do this to my truck about once a month in the winter to keep the underside clean and free from any ice melting substances.

Glad you got it out. Had a similar incident a few years back with my 06 MC. Wasn't planning on going thru the ditch in my horse pasture but the kids kept telling me that Old Clifford wouldn't make it thru. I showed them....after 6 hours of digging and 4 other trucks we finally got her out. Luckily I dint damage anything but it took a month before all the mud finally stopped falling off.

Stuck like chuck in a few feet of snow in Illinois and in some sandy soil on my property in Mississippi :banghead: ended up pulling both bumpers a little out of whack.

I put my old 91 CTD 4x4 in a fix like that one time. Had 35s on it. All it would do is spin. Once that frame hits on these beasts, it's over. That kind of mud has no bottom to it either. Best thing in mud like that is a wide footprint with aggressive lugs on the sides, coupled with momentum. I tried to pull my old Ram out with my 35 Hp tractor and it laughed. Would not move it. I then went and hooked up my 97 CTD with a LSD in the back and 35" BFG ATs. At first, all it would do is dig 4 BIG holes. After a couple of light snatches, it pulled free. Would of cost a mint to get a wrecker back where I was. Had to back my 97 down the trail about 1/4 mile.

Yeah stuck is never good.

I got this one stuck up to the frame, took 3 4x4s to pull it out.

Fun times.

Yea... That looks nasty

That's a great idea!!!

My dad told me to do that a while back... The only direction I could pull this one out was backwards, but a winch still would have been nice.

So...did you kill some 'yotes or what? Pics or it didn't happen! :hehe:
actually, that night was a bust. Which is unusual because we normally put the hurt on the pretty bad. Didn't plan on going until last minute. A good friend of mine had a good friend of his in town who is an active duty Seal. He made the comment that he needed to kill something every day. Said I was happy to oblige. Not sure if it was just a bad night all together or if it was the new call I bought. I bought a fox pro wildfire and wanted to try it. I could get replies on the male long howl but only ever had one come in on us. We thought it was a deer so we held off on shooting until it ran off we saw it was a coyote. Here's one my wife skull cracked a few weeks ago though. Spotted her perched on top of a round bail.

I was scared I was going to need a wrecker for a bit. Finally got it with the tractor but it took a bit.

It is awesome having a wife that hunts, isn't it? More importantly, it is awesome having a wife that you both enjoy being out there together. My wife and I are heading out tomorrow to get her deer. Tell her great job on that dirty dog!
