ok, finally get to drive the new truck with the bed on it and now it won't go in gear most of the time upon start up. I have to gingerly try to put it in while easy on the brake, continue to work the shifter, or if all else fails turn the truck off then restart and it goes right in. Anyone else had this? on my way to the dealer tomorrow.
Not that. But sometimes I have to shift it into, and out of Park, a couple of times in order to get the FOB out. Add it to the list when I take it back to the dealer next week.
Figure it's an easy mechanical fix. Headed to my dealer for first time meeting the service department. At least I get vehicle replacement for the first 3 years 36000miles so I won't be without wheels.
Sounds like a problem with the brake switch and/or BTSI solenoid. There is a manual override you can use (see Shift Lever Override in the owner's manual) to get it out of Park if the BTSI is messing up.
