haha i havent. and mine a a single stack 12 valve straight. its wakes up the neighborhood :)
I cut the muffler off and just moved my tile pipe back so if dumps out right infront of my tire and it just rattles the buildings in my town lol
Try a racing muffler.
I havnt had any trouble with cops but a fiends of mine with a CR got a ticket and just put a straite through muffler on it. i'm considering a muffler to help out with the smoke i'm putting out. Its past the point of being cool/fun. Its straite up rediciolous how much i'll put out.
My exhaust is running straight right out underneath the floorboard of the cab for a few weeks now. Loud as hell.

Took the stacks off to put a spray in liner in the bed and been to lazy to put them back in.

I haven't had any trouble with the cops.
I know for gassers you have to have a muffler but do you have to with diesels?

i dont think a muffler is going to help clear any smoke, they just wont hear you cumming from as far away:lol3:
no muffler needed turbo is the muffler buffeity buffety wigwig
i run 4" straight pipes to my stack, no muff, no cats. loud, but so far, no problems. cops here don't seem to care too much as long as you're not being stupid. my wrx, has 3" turbo back with nothing but a straight through racing muffler out back, very loud, never had a problem. my wife was driving it a couple weeks ago, racing a vw vr6, got pulled over, speeding ticket and all that but never anything about the exhaust.

guess we're lucky here!
Install a 3" glasspack like I did... Just a section of straight pipe and the muffler. $50 from summitracing.

I've got a crossbox that is 6x6 it tones it down, but sounds wicked from the straight 4's 4 in downpipe and ats exhaust manifold!!!!
my bullydog 6" exhaust is loud as h$%$. it has a really deap tone to it also:thumbsup
i've had mine striaght for two years now i did it a week after i bought it, i've never had any trouble and i know a few cops who think it sound awsome.
it all depends on where you live. if youre in the country somewhere it's more likely that your truck is music to their ears. if youre in suburbs just dont let er rip when people are around
i live in a subdivision and other than the neighbors across the street i havent had any problems. i leave for work at 5:30 am. i drive by cops all the time around here(locals, stateys and county mountys) and i have had no problems with them either.
A cop came up to me one day and ask if it had it stright piped.I said noooo. He new i was lying but went along with it.He said it sounded darn good. Then i got on it pretty hard leaving so he could hear it
I've never had any trouble with cops, even when the pipe was broken and dumping under the cab, and thats the kind of loud where you have to almost yell to talk to someone in the cab with the windows up.
My 01 had a straight 5" on it when I got it, and no trouble (so far) with the police or anyone else. Then again, i'm an old fart and I don't get on it where folks are gonna get upset.

Ops
HAHA, I had the same thought when I did my muffler and resonator, give it a week and you'll be wanting it even louder. BTW, is your pipe a 3" like my '01 or did you luck out and get a 4"?
