The other day I took the 'ol Cummins out for a quick spin, and lined up against a Duramax twice and a Powerstroke once, in fairly quick succession. (and beat them both hands down :party018:) Directly after the racing, there was no strange engine noise, but I took a little backroading adventure for an hour roughly and afterwards, there was a "knock" coming from the engine. It sounds like a lifter, but this is the first Cummins I have owned, and am still new to the diesel world. The only mods I have is a Superchips FlashPaq, and the Quadzilla Xzillaraider II module, with a 4" straight pipe exhaust. The sound happend at the same rhythm as the RPM's, increasing in speed with the RPM's as well. What should I do? It is an 04.5 Ram 2500 Quad Cab Short Bed.

Thanks, you have been a bunch of help. Think I might go out and fix that right now.
