Hey all, I need a little advice on straight piping my exhaust. I want to make it so I can remove the muffler but be able to put it back in when I go for long trips, the only thing is I don't have a pipe bender and the locale muffler shop said he dosen't ether for 4" pipe. But he dose have straight 4" pipe.


Heres what I'm trying to do....

I want to be able to clamp it it so it is easy to take out and refit with the muffler.

Can anyone give me some advice on this? Has this been done before?

there is a muffler delete pipe already bent for this, genosgarage.com has them i believe its about 70 bucks or so for the piece.

danny i have the cat delete pipe and it fits like
a glove. be sure and use the collar type clamps
when you put the muff delete pipe on, it will be
easier to remove when you need to :thumbsup:

x2 invest in the good clamps! the u clamps will crimp the pipe and you wont get them apart.

i put the genos type delete pipe on and i actually think it took quite a bit of drone out... but maybe not

hold on... doesn't and 03 have like 3 or 3.5 inch exhaust?

Yes it does from the turbo to the muffler then to 4"after the muffler.

use band clamps and you wont crimp the pipe like the standard clamps will

if you live close to round rock, you can go to
fleetpride, close to the 3406 ih 35 intersection.
i think they're $8.95/ea for the 4"ers.

i straight piped my truck a few weeks ago, when your cruzing around 75 its not bad at all you wont even know you have it straight piped.

a 6 speed. glad i held out !
