Im looking into getting a DTT VB soon to help get the power to the wheels that i need.

I know one guy here has run the stock converter with the DTT with success and made a helluva lot more power than i ever will with my truck just was looking for a few more opinions on this.

I am not modifying my truck beyond breathing mods, the most i intend is the intake which i have, 4" TBE, RV275's and thats really all i hoped to need for power adders. Will the power supplied by those mods give me the power to tow 7500-8k lbs with relative ease as thats the MOST weight that will be behind my truck for any length of time.

The only thing i would like is to tighten up the transmission as i can blow right past stall all the way to 28-2850rpm right now if i go WOT, it pulls MUCH better just laying off the throttle and holding it around 2300-2400rpm.

I was hoping with the valve body to tighten the stock converter up i would be okay since im not making huge power with the truck just looking for a reliable tow rig that can pull my toy hauler up hill w/o embarassing me as my freinds Hemi will run 75 up every hill from DE to Michigan last year with relative ease and if he outpulls my truck this year headed to Memphis...:thud:

Any input is much appreciated:thumbsup

I am a bit on a budget as this truck is NOT my toy as it seems most peoples trucks on here are their toys. hence why id like to avoid having to also do the torque converter.

A good VB will improve fluid coupling and firm up your shifts. It will also give you more holding power to the clutches and the lock-up clutch of the Tq converter.

The VB is only going to help your tranny if your tranny isn't already damaged.

It doesnt slip now or anything, pulls my 4500lb work trailer fine w/o any drama. DE is flat as a board and where im headed in 2 months isnt and im adding 3500lbs to my load and dont want to have my trans slipping away in 3rd gear pulling up a hill or anything. Just looking for a little firmer/tighter shifts and a little more hold in 3rd if i need it to maintain speed in NC and TN. It is a new trans replaced under warrenty at 70k in 03 or 04, cant remember.

Or is it even nessecary to pull 8k lbs. Like i mentioned earlier my freinds 04 Hemi pulled the exact same load w/o any drama last year. Not sure how my trans compares to his.
