Stock clutch is no match for EFI Live

Just hooked up my EFI live csp5 level 2 from Anarchy. Very impressed with the quality of work. From what I can tell someone has spend a lot of time on these tunes. Very clean linear power! The predicament I'm in now is that I can only make it to the tow tune before my clutch starts slipping. With the stock clutch this is something I knew I was going to have to replace using level 2 tunes. Now I'm in the market for a high performance clutch. I am asking what clutch do you think would fit my needs best. I'm guessing it is around 500 hp on the race tune by what the website says. My wife drives the truck a lot so I would like a smoother engagement. I tow maybe 15-18k pounds occasionally. I tow 3k pound often. I will mostly be just playing on the street (legally) :) and possibly trying it on the strip. Everything else is on my sig.

I have a sb in my 07 i like it. Have a valair street trip in my 06 i loved it until a few days ago. I now have a new pressure plate coming valair. I will/would buy valair agian. There customer service is Awesome. Everything mass produced will eventually have somthing that fails. I usually get em, lol. So you guys are all good. The trip is worth the $!!
Had a buddy that just had his sb dd 3250 ceramic rebuilt to an organic and says it made a world of difference. Rode in it today and it was smooth.
was the stock clutch the original or have u replaced it since owning the truck with the OEM clutch? Only asking cause I basically have the same truck and was looking to go EFIlive when I redeploy. My clutch was just replaced before I got the truck so not sure exactly what was put in it but the dealer did the install so guessing OEM style clutch.
Yeah I've got a crematic in my 01 and its pretty jumpy. Nice for the pulls though. Doesn't miss a beat. If you don't want to pull or race go with the organic

I believe it is original seeing that my truck only has 40k on it.

good to know, I don't live far from the folks at Anarchy and was looking to get autocal when I redeploy so will plan on getting the tuner and see how my clutch acts with it but will probably end up upgrading as well. Please post or if you can email me when you upgrade your clutch and let me know how the new clutch is working with you EFILive. Thanks.

Good advice.
Will i have to upgrade my hydraulics if i go with say a SB dd 3250. What is the difference between the factory and upgraded aftermarket hydro's that south bend sells?
Get the upgraded hydros for extra flow.
So the factory hydro's will hold up to any added force from the HP clutch, but the aftermarket hydro's are larger and flow more volume for faster engagement/disengagement?
They'll work but upgraded ones are always recommended when you increase the pressure plate load.
it is likely that you will need the additional stroke from the adjustable arm on the hd hydros to fully disengage the clutch.

Was looking at the same thing, with the truck in my sig I have a Valair DD Ceramic right now, and it holds like no tomorrow but, its miserable to drive in traffic, and the wife hates how its just an on/off switch plus its louder than loud when the pedal is depressed. Gear roll over I can live with but the out of control floater plate rattle makes the truck sound like its busted all the time. Is the SB3250 quieter when the pedal is down? Or is there a driveable single out there that will support the power?

Kyle
I love my Valair sd kev/ceramic rated for 550hp. It looks like a DD on there website but its a pic of both sides.

get the upgraded hydro's
I have the Valair 3600# ceramic DD only complaint I have is that it gets choppy when backing a trailer up since you have to ride the clutch a bit. Other then that Ive pulled a 10k+ trailer with it and if you use 1st gear it dose the job just fine. My friend has one of the old DDs from like 2007 and mine is brand new the pedal pressure is WAY different. my pedal isnt that hard to push contrary to what Ive read.
anyone out there running the new SB DD 3250? How is the noise level and driveability compared to the factory clutch?
We now have model out that has no noise when the pedal is depressed. However it is still quite the challenge when the truck is idling in neutral.
