OK, So I blew a turbo which slipped the timing. Had timng adjusted and the truck will run but I have to use just the slightest bit of pedal. I replaced my airdog pump (now only a week old) and made sure fuel was getting to engine fine. All is good. It will not idle or start up with out me keeping just a hair on the pedal. if i let it run for a few minutes and then take my foot off the pedal suuuuuuper slow, then it will stay running for a bit and dies out. It will not stay running obviously when driving it. I just got it back from a shop and they dont know whats wrong with it. they said they maybe think its the p pump and they called columbus diesel but they are going to charge me 800 to go through it and if anything is wrong it will be a total of 1800 to fix. this is so irritating. I just want my baby back!!! PLEASE HELP:confused013:

here is what is done to the truck:

it has 4k gov springs, full cut delivery valves, bigger lines, (obviously its p-pumped) not a 53 block, 3850 southbend, Mach 8 injectors, fire ringed and studded, airdog 150 with big line kit, cam and 18* of timing

The turbo got barked and it was making an awful sound from the wheel grinding on the turbo walls.
This is boviously not the truck in my sig either
A few things I would do first is check your governor spring or reset them, and recheck your timing. If all that is fine I would then move to your shut off solenoid and your OFV. If all of that is good, you may want to check your cam gear, if you slipped timing, you could possibly have walked the cam.

if I walked the cam, wouldnt it not run at all? also, (this maybe a stupid question) but what am i looking for when i check the gov spring? i have a fuel shut off solenoid but how do i make sure that is working?
Make sure you have the idle shim under the idle spring in the gov assembly.

Have you adjusted the idle at all?

I have seen on the forums where people have still driven the truck with a walked cam(this is out of theory)but if the cam walked then your pump timing would be off unless you tiki ex it by piston TDC.

Maybe just bump the idle up?

I have not bumped the idle up yet and ill take a look at the gov springs and make sure the shim is there...... a part of me really just wants to bump the idle up and forget it...... will that hurt anything? Is it ok to have it idle at about 900?
thanks to all yalls input BTW.... it has been of Great help!
a lil off subject but .....
I cant for the life of me figure out how to change my signature!!!!!!!
Idle should be between 750-800 in drive with a/c on with park brake set.

It will not hurt to bump the idle up to 900 or so. It will more than likely drop to the range the guys above me mentioned with it in gear and ac on. Try the idle adjustment first since it takes almost no time at all.

It might be hard to see the shim under the idle spring without taking it apart and then you open a whole new can of worms getting the springs set back and getting it to idle again.
