my truck has rough idle and long crank sometimes. but the wires they talk about in that sticky thread are fine.
however, i am getting a check engine light and a code for cam sensor.
so.... does anybody know if a bad cam sensor would cause it to not idle smooth? cuz other that that it runs very nice. good power, etc.

which cam sensor code are you getting?

If you have no other codes, then you need to check the sensor itself.

If you measure with an ohm meter across the sensor's pins 1 & 3, and the resistance is outside of the 900-1100 ohm range, the sensor needs to be replaced.

also ohm check the CPS wiring for a short espeically to ground/chassis. they can rub on metal and short out the ECM control sense voltage circuit
the middle wire shorts to ground. is it supposed to?
