I have a annoying winning noise thru the speakers, most noticeable between 50-60 mph goes away with letting off accelerator . Everything in the truck is factory nothing extra. I have the factory upgraded alpine stereo. Checked alternator its grounded and putting out correct amperage. This whining is beyond annoying and I can't seem to locate the source. I have some in-line noise suppressor but haven't installed them yet figured I'd check here first...

Whining in Stereo? You got yer wife and the ex in the truck with you?
Offer up some cheese.

Other than that, I'd look for a ground that's loose or broken somewhere. It could be on the radio itself, the alternator..... God only knows. Maybe you need to add a ground.

I'd talk to some aftermarket radio installers and see what they have to say.

Better yet, take it back to the Dealer

Good luck.

When you say factory upgraded alpine stereo, do you mean you replaced the factory *AN radio with an aftermarket Alpine unit?

You have a bad ground somewhere. Alternator whine as it's called is usually caused by a ground that is not attached or has poor contact.

What have you changed recently on the truck?

Good lord if it was my wife and ex both in the truck I'd drive it off a cliff.... But seriously, it came factory with the touch screen alpine stereo with sub I haven't added or changed anything electronic all OEM components. I've checked most all grounds I could find, was hoping for an easy fix so I wouldn't have to take it back for warranty they take to long.

Did you do any work under the hood? I would check both battery connections, if they seem tight then it's time to see the dealer and have them figure out what the issue is. It's rare, but entirely possible the alternator diodes are the problem. If this is the case, the dealer will have to replace the alternator.

I haven't done anything under the hood prior to this issue. I suspected the alternator and went ahead and replaced it (expensive guessing game) and still have the issue. I'm going to go back thru grounds this weekend to double check.

What if you took door panels off and used a jumper wire to ground them , maybe finding a weak ground. What about doing the same w the radio.

I would de-pin the ground right at the radio connector and re-pin a new short ground wire, and ground it as close to the radio as possible.
Do the same thing at the connector at the amp by the parking brake. The grounds for both are the only solid black wires going into the connectors. Do the radio first, then test it out, then do the amp next, and test it out.
