steering box stabilizer

My 01 has the classic steering wander which seems to be caused by a bit of output shaft play in the steering box. On a good day it has no real problem, but in high wind or inclement weather the truck starts to wander. The worse the weather is, the more I have to get to work, so I'd really like this resolved. I was wondering if anyone has used one of the aftermarket braces with positive results? Genos sells two, one by BD, the other by UUC. Im looking at the latter, mostly due to cost concerns (its been a pricy year). In the pictures, at least, it does not look substantially different. Thoughts?

They do work well but if there's problems with other components of your suspension ie. tie rods, ball joints, etc it won't have much improvement.
I have checked all the rest and it is good! The 3rd gen trackbar was a huge improvement and i hope this will be too!
take a look at the link i posted. its the one i have on my truck

just got that, lol. How do you like it? How is the build quality? Looks like a nice unit! It really seems (as far as pictures and descriptions go) that all of these are about the same...

This is the one I bought off of ebay. It did make an improvement but my track bar needed to be rebuilt so after I rebuilt track bar it's almost perfect.
I will be going with Redhead steering box later on as stock one has ~134k miles on it and its still wobbly.

tightened up my steering. my box is whooped but the truck steers better. the only difference i could see if there are any would be the steel and bearing quality. i bought mine when they were on sale for $100.

Ok, thanks! Price is a big factor, but i do want something that will hold up. I dont go offroading, just heavy duty highway use.
Your 17 inch wheels and maybe 35+ inch tires are not doing you any favors either !!!

265 70 17 the wheels and tires are stock third gen, maybe 30 inches at most? Not too large as far as I can tell...
I put one on my 96, and it helped the steering feel a good bit firmer. There's still a tiny bit of play in the wheel, but I'm sure that's due to other worn out components.
