I own a 2005 Dodge 2500 diesel 5.9 with S&B air. When towing up a grade the transmission will downshift and the rpm's will run about 2300. The engine feels and sounds like it is starved for fuel. The truck holds speed and does not seem as though it is loosing power.

Should I be concerned? Dodge says if the lift pump was failing I should be getting a check engine light code. They
further recommend that the dealer check my software level in the PCM and update it if is needed.

Anybody out there with a simular problem?

Paloma.

Mine was doing the same thing. I would mash on the peddle and the truck wouldn't go anywhere. I never got any code or CEL. But I just installed the Airdog 150 and now it doesn't feel like it's starving for fuel any more. I'd check your lift pump.
