anyone hear a distinct tic nose when their motor 1st cranks on until it reaches a 100 or so degrees regardless of outside temp?

mine does it, many others do it. it is a normal noise.

alright because my truck will be 4 yrs old in august but it didnt start doin it till march of 2008 but never any problems :headbang:

mine does it more when its colder out and i'm running blended fuel summer months you barely an hear it

Mine will do that also, it is the AC compressor at least on my case.

TXAustin, you mean the wire rubbing on the bolt or the actual AC compressor causes this on your truck?

The AC compressor causes this when it kicks on. It will still "tick" for a second after it has warmed up but is a lot quieter. Normal on our trucks.
