So first off its 16* out and I'm not about to start rolling around on the ground chasing things.

The last two times I've started the truck I've noticed about a 8" spot on the ground. Upon looking for where it's coming from I found it to be the right front at the accessories. It is dripping from the rear of the a/c compressor and it appears to be a clear lubricant.

I've questioned myself thinking its maybe water/condensation but it has a slight oily feel to it. There is virtually no smell and since it's been so cold the spots haven't done anything on the concrete so I can't be 100% positive it's not water (though I've never had this before). What is there besides compressor oil in that general vicinity that could be clear and drip down there.

If it was warmer I'd dig in to it before posting here. But at the moment I'm gonna hope someone here can eliminate or narrow down the issue.

Thanks

Turn off your defrost and see what happens, the defrost uses the A/C to reduce moisture in the cab, and most likely is just condensation run off in the colder temps.

Where is the cp3 located? I looked quick and thought I saw it lower left. It had what I thought was a slight hint of diesel smell but it was very slight and only on the first time.

I haven't been running ac/defrost at all which is partially why I was saying what else besides water. So this only adds to the puzzle.

I've never smelt it before but does compressor oil smell? It's the only thing I can think of. This damn cold doesnt help things either.

It was -38C yesterday and my truck tends to leak coolant from the drain valve on the rad and it appears to leak from the water pump. Once the truck is started and warming up the leak stops. It's -40C this morning and I am not even going to attempt to start it until it warms up.

CP3 is front drivers side of the motor, opposite from the condensor.
That's what I thought. I only stuck my head under the hood for a couple seconds and thought that's where I saw it. Being I haven't had any issues with accessories/belts I never paid attention to positioning of things.

It's definitely coming from further back. It was dripping from the rear most bolt which was leading me to suspect a/c oil. I've never paid attention to the smell of a/c oil though. It's a whopping 8F out right now and there's no way I'm taking a look. Now if my garage doors ever show up I could heat the new garage:banghead: I have no need for the truck today so it's staying parked. Now -38C:shock: Screw that I would pack up and find some sun

Thanks guys. Ill let everyone know once it warms up a bit.
