Yesterday when I was driving the truck stalled all of the sudden. I had been cruising down the highway and when I got off and came to a light the truck died while idling/coasting. It did this about 2 more times and then quit. Same thing happened today. It just does it sporadically. Any ideas? 96 auto 4x4. Idle is set about 850-900.
Do you know your fuel pressure? Does the throttle stick or seem stiff when it acts up? I had this same kind of thing happen, kept getting worse... replaced LP and Overflow valve and all is good... even better than ever now.
Just filled the truck up the other day. Gauge has been spot on after I fixed it. The throttle doesn't stick or anything. I don't know my fuel pressure. I was thinking it might be the overflow valve but don't have any idea. I don't want to throw money at it guessing at the problem. About a week ago it would stall right after it was started. Whether it was in park or idling. I could pump the throttle a little to keep it going. Drove it just a little bit ago and didn't have the problem. The fuel filter has about 6k miles on it. Maybe I should change it??
Yah try the filter first... cheapest and it's due for a change I'd say.
