I was told by a mechanic that does state inspections that after the first of the year stacks will be illegal on pickups. Anyone hear anything about that for 2011?

What a bunch of cockamamie crap. If it's true. What's the difference in pickups and a semi. Just tell them you are getting the soot up and over your trailer.
I did get pulled over for noise though here in Anchorage AK. Had to go down to health and human services for them to put a decibel meter next to my truck. Oddly enough it was quiet enough hahahaha.

But are the inspectors going to enforce the law when they look at your truck? If you go by the letter of the a truck with stacks should not pass Maryland state inspection but some (most) inspectors let it slide. I wish i had the inspection book infront of me so i could quote it word for word. But the law here is basically that any modified exhaust does not pass in Maryland. Usually when changes like this happen in the law its because of complaints from citizens about "the loud trucks with them pipe things in the bed of it"

i am just going to stop and ask the guy who inspects my truck to see whats going on. he passes it now with no cat or muffler.

NY is the same way. you cant have stacks on anything under 18,000lbs. And they are going to make ppl take them off

YOur truck is not quiet it anyway lol...but jsut out of couristy, what was your decibel reading at idle?

This is going to turn into a political debate real quick lol......I've never seen a president that has been more protected than Obama and yet do such a chitty job in office, he plays golf more than he spends time working on the unemployment rates in America... and and he's RAISING taxes.... what a swell guy
