To those who made their own stacks and used a square cross over pipe have you noticed any issues over regular pipes?

Made one for my friends 99 dodge. He ran the grandrocks set when he purchased the truck. Then he got a flatbed installed and we made the square crossover. The only real difference is the sound. Its much quieter with the square pipe. No egt differences. We used 4x6 tubing. Cut 5" holes in each end and the bottom where the turn up comes in. Bought 3 pieces of 5" pipe flared and welded them in place. Had less than $120 in the whole crossover when done.

I've ridden in one with a similar stack setup to mine (I have 5" y pipe) and it was much quieter. Had I known it when I put my stacks on I would have definitely tried to find something like that rather than the bed kit I bought.
