So whos got the true 5 inch downpipe and all.

Well I think you called and spoke to me yesterday and I did have them make the correct fixes on our site. I explained to you about the downpipe and where the change was. I think I helped you as best as I could. I am sorry if you feel you were given the run around but I feel like I said I did the best I could for you. Those guys need to update there website due to incorrect pictures supplied with part numbers. I wanted a 5 inch exhaust straight from the flange. They said it turns to 5 inch after 12-15 inches. Basically after the bend. Although the picture shows different. Was going to consider Silverline but I have heard that FBD's kit turns 5 inch right after the turbo within inches. Can anyone confirm any of these tales. I just want a true 5 ich thats gonna fit good. Thanks inadvance.
"FYI"Also both Magna Flow & Silverline the muffler necks down to 4" inside. Just and FYI
What is the point of running a 5" system if it closes up to 4"? That does not make sence to me."FYI"
We do that to due to the fact that it helps with the noise factor. With it necked down to 4" inside the muffler there was no negative loss on the dyno either.
Cooler EGTs.What is the point of running a 5" system if it closes up to 4"? That does not make sence to me.
I guess I just dont see how it could have cooler EGT's over a 4" system. If you have a 5" system with a 4" muffler i just dont see how it could flow any more than a 4" system. It still has 4" of free flowing exhaust. Not 5". That why i took my silverline muffler off and now have a MBRP with a 5" core and it sounds BAS ACooler EGTs.
yes it does... not exactly how far it is but it isn't very far at all... probably the best downpipe I have seen out there as far as 5" goesI have heard that FBD's kit turns 5 inch right after the turbo within inches.
With the 5" there is more surface area for the air to cool opposed to the 4". The EG starts cooling as soon as it leaves the manifold prior to exiting the pipe. 5" also flows more CFM even though it bottlenecks slightly in the muffler.I guess I just dont see how it could have cooler EGT's over a 4" system. Cooler EGTs.
it doesn't make much sense to me either...I guess I just dont see how it could have cooler EGT's over a 4" system. something that flows 5" all the way thru is gonna be more efficient than something that necks down to 4 and back up to 5With the 5" there is more surface area for the air to cool opposed to the 4". The EG starts cooling as soon as it leaves the manifold prior to exiting the pipe. 5" also flows more CFM even though it bottlenecks slightly in the muffler.
If you say so. I personaly dont see how it could possibly flow more than a 4" system. The muffler core is 4" I dont see how its possible to flow more than 4" worth of air/exhaust thru a 4" hole. Im sorry but I just dont see how it is possible. With the 5" there is more surface area for the air to cool opposed to the 4". Agreed. I was referring to a 5" opposed to a 4".something that flows 5" all the way thru is gonna be more efficient than something that necks down to 4 and back up to 5
5" all the way thru will flow more period... soIf you say so. I personaly dont see how it could possibly flow more than a 4" system. The muffler core is 4" I dont see how its possible to flow more than 4" worth of air/exhaust thru a 4" hole. Im sorry but I just dont see how it is possible.
Yeah, I definitly see your point. I may be wrong but if nothing else 5" for looks. I like my setup because there is no drone at highway speeds or towing. If you say so. I personaly dont see how it could possibly flow more than a 4" system. The muffler core is 4" I dont see how its possible to flow more than 4" worth of air/exhaust thru a 4" hole.
