Dealer can only recalibrate to stock tire sizes. Is one hour of labor but will only get you to a 33". Since that tire is a 35" not worth time or money. You can do it with a Smarty or other programmers but NOT EFI live. Hypertech sells a stand alone tire size programmer.

I used the flashcal by Superchips. Let’s you also adjust gear ratios and a few other things. Also works as a code reader and can clear codes.

I was able to get it dead on to gps speed with it. Works great.

I have a 2016 2500, switching to a larger tire, 285/75r18, can the dealer recalibrate the speedometer? How difficult? Price? thanks
I went with the exact same tire size, and used the following Hypertech:

Speedometer Calibrators - Part #752503 - $229.00

This thing works great, and it is simple.

My speedo was off by less than 2mph when the dealer put 35's without re-calibrating it. When I installed the MM3 I changed the tire setting now it is right on. I don't think 2mph is worth the money IMO but to be honest it bothered me that it was 2mph off :)

The AEV Pro cal can change the tires and gears for $170 up to '17. For '18 its $195. They say it will do the TPMS but have to go to dealer to complete the change, whatever that means.

The AEV procal does work but it’s DIP switches only no screen. For $30 more I did the flashcal instead. Much nicer with a color screen and can read and clear codes. Definitely worth the extra $30.

Would the flashcal work with an EFI Live truck? Seems like the hypertech is fine as long as things are done in correct order, but flashcal looks to have more functions for regear, etc and is a bit cheaper. I’ve been 4mph off since I went to 35s, and it annoys me. Also learned the speed in the Nav screen must not be GPS because it’s off as well.

It should be fine but if you want to be sure check with superchips. Might be something in the FAQ on the website.

There is a tire size in the factory settings. I always forget it until I see it. It's the biggest tire size stored. I set it to that when I'm programming TPMS pressures and it gets the job done on 35s. I have a GPS app on my phone and check it every time just to verify....

Dealers can do this. The big question is whether or not they want to or have someone that knows how to....

The other most reliable option I know of is the Hypertech calibrator.....

For anyone wondering. I bought the Flashcal. I put my tune back to stock, and set the tires with the Flashcal to 34.8 per Toyo specs. That took me from 4mph slow to 4mph fast so I went with whatever was the middle between stock and 34.8. Been spot on ever since. No issues after putting my tunes back on.

AlphaOBD and inexpensive OBDII Bluetooth adapter. ~$80 or so. And can do so much more. Like change the TPMS, enable all the cameras on the radio, allow LED lights, set fogs to stay on with brights, and a few 100 other tweaks.

As long as you have a "Smart Phone".

HeavyTwo: Do you own and use this app? At only $49 (I already have a bluetooth ODB dongle) it seems like a bargain. However, the descriptions that I have been able to find online on the ALPHAODB.COM page don't mention being able to change the parameters you mention. Can you point me to more complete documentation? Also, when you say "allow LED lights", do you mean enabling the existing LED's as DRL's? That is something that I'd like to do and would gladly pay the $49 to do it. Thanks.
